Your role:
- Travel to patient’s homes to provide meaningful therapeutic supports in context.
- Assessing, diagnosing, and screening language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
- Completing documentation as required, including detailed reports.
- Collaborating with family, physicians, allied health team, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
- Collaborating with the allied health team to create targeted group programs.
- Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.
- Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
- Staying up to date with developments in treatments.
- Supervision of allied health assistant and students.
- Mentoring of new graduates and recruits.
- Other tasks as directed.
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of children and adults living with a disability.
- Communication skills to build rapport with diverse clients & families; making therapy fun & engaging.
- Effective time management skills to work autonomously.
- Attention to detail with a focus on documentation and people.
- SPA registration.
- National Police Check.*
- Blue card and WSC Check.
- First Aid Training.*
- Driver’s license.
- Road-worthy, insured vehicle.
